Prayer Wish Boxes

A Prayer Box has many different names, Tibetan Buddhists call it a "Gau" (Ghau or Gao), African Americans say "Conjur Bag" or Mojo Hands", Latin Americans call it a "Package Amulet", South Americans have "Charm Vials" and Americans will refer to them as "Wish Boxes". They are treasured by different faiths even non religious. They were originally worn as a religious or ritual object but are now designed to be worn for sentimental reasons.

Prayer, Wish Boxes are available in different shapes, sizes and material and can be a simple design or very ornate. They have a small compartment with a hinged flip top, or a screw top, also varieties that open much like a locket. They are designed like a pendant to wear on a necklace or bracelet.

Prayer, Wish Boxes have traditionally been used to keep tiny sentimental treasures such as a lock of hair, loved ones ashes, a note, baby's first tooth, whatever is special and dear to you can be placed inside.
It is believed that a prayer or wish whispered into one will come true!
